Bashō, Carnets de voyage "Nozarashi Kikō"
(Bashō, Travel book "Nozarashi Kikō")

In the composition, calligraphy and paintings, ink and colors dialogue well with Matsuo Bashō’s original esthetics. The répartition of the éléments  deals with the whitness of the paper as well as with the ink strokes, with well-balanced as well as with unbalanced subjects of the pictures.

Paying particular attention to preserve some white space, the brush goes quickly all around the paper in order to lay down ink strokes representing trees, birds, small vegetables, insects, birds or rare flowers borrowed from the symbolic list of seasonal subjects, come freely to confirm the concerns of the master and general reflections of the buddistic philosophy.
